Easy Listening. Easy listening is a popular music genre and radio format that was most popular during the 1950s to the 1970s. It is related to middle-of-the-road music and encompasses recordings of hit songs, non-rock vocals and covers of selected popular rock songs.
Easy listening music is often confused with lounge music, but while it was popular in some of the same venues it was meant to be listened to for enjoyment rather than as background sound.
Let’s play what I call easy listening. All genres have it. So play your favorites. Below are a few of mine.

Play anything that you wish. Doesn’t matter if it’s rock, soul, top forty, etc.
There are a few ways we define the perfect summer song: It can be about summer, it can be released in the summer, or, in the case of some tracks on this list, it can define an entire summer with its impact and airplay.
It’s been a while. Songs about time. I think any song about time will do for this rainy morning. Time can be in the title, song, or the group or artist’s name.
Isn’t it fascinating to think about the concept of time? It’s unique in the sense that all of us have the same amount of time in a day. But as you know all too well, some people just seem to know how to make better use of it than others. At times, it feels like you need more than 24 hours to get everything done. And during those fleeting moments when you clear your mind, you realize that you’re in an endless race against time.
It’s Friday so let’s start the weekend with music.
Weekends are a time to unwind, relax and have fun after a long week of work or school. Whether you prefer to party all night, catch up on your favorite TV shows, or spend time with loved ones, there’s no denying that the weekend is a much-needed break for many. Music has always been a great companion to any weekend activity, setting the tone for the mood and making the experience even more enjoyable.
Here in the heartland (Midwest) I’m up thinking about what to do this weekend. I know better to not ask my wife. Work around the house. So let’s play some songs that get you into that weekend mood.

It can be in the title, song, or artists name.When the music plays, your body sways to the beat! Since the dawn of human civilization music and dance have complemented each other. Dance is a physical way of expressing the feelings and emotions music stirs. So, it should come as no surprise that so many songs from all genres have had the word “dance” in their titles.
The unofficial beginning of Summer. In the USA Memorial day has always been the unofficial beginning of Summer. So let’s play songs about summer, bands that have summer in their name, orsongs that have summer in the title.
Songs from the late 60’s and 70’s are my favorites. What about you? OK so I’m old. The 60’s and 70’s was the golden age for me. Be it Classic, Pop, or Soul.
But you can play any era you feel has the best music. Be it the 50’s, 80’s,90’s todays music. Play it.
Songs having to do with animals. Let’s play those tunes about animals, or have animals in the title, or the band has an animal name. This should be an easy one.
Male Duets. It’s the guys turn. This should be an easy one. Peter and Gordon, Chad and Jeremy, Righteous Brothers, McCartney &Jackson, and the list goes on and on.

Songs by your favorite Band or Bands. So most folks have more than one favorite band. If you’re like me you have several. I’m going to start off with a Cleveland band that made it big.
I’ve chosen to separate things into a variety of loose genre categories and to limit things to one song per artist, just so we could include as many different folks as possible. As you’ll see below, there was an enormous amount of great music being produced, so take this list as a starting point for future exploration. The best songs of the 70s do the same, pointing the way to music and art that demands your attention.
Let’s do some duets. This should be an easy one. there have been so many duets over the years. So, why not play a few favorites.
Over time we have had some duets that just really blew me away. But I’m sure you folks out there know what I mean. I’m sure there will be songs that someone will post, and you’ll say something like wow I forgot about that one.
