Dance till you drop. We have had foot moving music, but here you let the whole body go.
PLAY ANY SONG THAT HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH DANCING.
It can be in the title, song, or artists name. When the music plays, your body sways to the beat! Since the dawn of human civilization music and dance have complemented each other. Dance is a physical way of expressing the feelings and emotions music stirs. So, it should come as no surprise that so many songs from all genres have had the word “dance” in their titles.
Another year has come and gone. So I would like to think that someone like me who is very political was able to show the softer side of 2021. We were able to keep politics off this website. So I would like to share some of the photos here. Some old, some new.
As we look forward to 2022 please share any pictures, or music. Or if you have a gif you think worth’s sharing, please do. May your new year be filled with joy.
This Christmas we had two tablecloths.
And can you ever forget our table cloth closet?
And years ago a bunch of recording artists got together for this tune.
And someone who left us knew how to change things around when it came to song and dance.
How about my favorite. FOOD.
How about a few giffs?
Who can forget our famous Apple Works?
Or Lemon Works.
In the spring we had our world famous Ghetto garden.
We also had Easter decorations.
And we had Valentine’s.
And we celebrated the Irish.
In the summer we were Patriotic.
In the fall we had our Pumpkins.
In the winter, Icicles
And of course after 34 years, we went back to Hale Farm.
Let’s hear it for the dancing feet. Songs to dance by. Developed by students at the MIT Media Lab and owned by Spotify, Echonest uses digital processing technology to identify attributes of songs, such as valence, instrumentation, and key signature (pdf). The company created a proprietary algorithm to determine the “danceability” of a song based on its tempo and beat regularity. The calculation emphasizes the ability to dance throughout the whole song, so a bridge that even briefly changes the mood is highly penalized.
By the late 1970s, most major U.S. cities had thriving disco club scenes, and DJs would mix dance records at clubs such as Studio 54 in Manhattan, a venue popular among celebrities. Discothèque-goers often wore expensive, extravagant, and sexy fashions. There was also a thriving drugsubculture in the disco scene, particularly for drugs that would enhance the experience of dancing to the loud music and the flashing lights, such as cocaine and Quaaludes, the latter being so common in disco subculture that they were nicknamed “disco biscuits”. Disco clubs were also associated with promiscuity as a reflection of the sexual revolution of this era in popular history.
Disco was the last popular music movement driven by baby boomers, peaking in popularity during the mid-late 1970s. It declined as a major trend in popular music during the late 1970s to early 1980s, but remained a key influence in the development of electronic dance music, house music, hip-hop, new wave, and post-disco. While no new disco movement has dominated popular music since its decline, the style has had several revivals since the 1990s, and the influence of disco remains strong across American and European pop music.
